Learning Tips for Your Quiz

Konnichiwa,

I hope you all have been working so hard for preparing for your quiz tomorrow.
Here is some information that helps you prepare for the quiz.

I will ask some questions about yourself: like what is your name?, How are you?, About the Weather…. So be able to respond to them in Japanese.

The below is a sample dialogue for H-2 on p. 184.
_______________________________________________________
You see a man who is also looking for someone, so you approach him and ask if he is Mr. Yamashita.
Sumimasen, Yamashita-san desu ka?

The man says he is not.
Iie.

You apologize.
Shitsuree shimashita.

In the meantime, a different man approaches you and asks if you are (your name).
Masaki-san desu ka?

You answers yes and tell him that you are (your name) from Hawai‘i Pacific University.
Hai, soo desu. Hawaii Pacific Daigaku no Masaki desu.

The man says he is Yamashita from Tokyo University and greets you
Hajimemashite. Tokyo Daigaku no Yamashita desu. Doozo yoroshiku.

You return the greeting and say, “Nice to meet you.”
Doozo yoroshiku.

GOOD LUCK (Ganbatte kudasai!!)

If you have questions, please feel free to ask me questions.
